Circle City Classic®
More than 100,000 people travel nationally to Indianapolis each year to witness this action-packed weekend. The 28th Annual Circle City Classic® comes to town Sept. 30 – Oct. 1. The event provides an opportunity to showcase historically black colleges and universities to Indiana families and visitors to Indianapolis.

- Classic Cabaret featuring Frankie Beverley and Maze, Keith Sweatt and more at Indiana Convention Center Halls A&B, 7 p.m.
- Warren Central vs. Carmel at Lucas Oil Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
- Gospel Music Explosion featuring Deitrick Haddon and the Brown Boys at Madame Walker Theatre, 7:30 p.m.
- Comedy Jam featuring Chris Tucker at Old National Centre, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 1
- Circle City Classic® Parade– Downtown Indianapolis, 10 a.m. – noon

Monumental Mayhem Oct. 7 – 9
The Naptown Rollergirls, Indianapolis’ only Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s (WFTDA) certified roller derby team, will whip-it at the 2011 North Central Region Playoffs, Oct. 7 – 9 at the Indiana Convention Center. Every fall, the top 10 teams from each WFTDA region – East, West, North Central and South Central – face off in a series of four regional playoffs. Lace up for a cause
For fitness and health, Downtown is just a walk or run away! The Indiana 21st Annual AIDS 5k Walk will take off on Oct. 8 at University Park. Light the Night Walk kicks off on Oct. 15 at Victory Field. These events average1,500 – 3,000 participants and focus on raising funds and bringing help and hope to Hoosiers battling AIDS and blood cancers. Others include the GermanFEST Lederhosen 5k Lauf (Run/Walk) on Oct. 8 at the Athenaeum Foundation, Inc. and both the Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk at the IUPUI Campus Center and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Military Park on Oct. 16.
