Third Thursday Open Houses showcase Downtown living

There’s an easy way for potential homebuyers and renters to check out Downtown living options!

Third Thursday Open Houses will take place Downtown May - September, showcasing more than 25 homes for sale and apartments for rent every month.  The open houses run from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., followed by a free “Meet Your Neighbors” reception at 6:30 p.m. at a Downtown restaurant.  Downtown residents will be on hand to talk to interested buyers and renters and share why they love living in the heart of the city.

“Having several open houses at once gives customers an opportunity to check out a variety of Downtown living options in just a few hours,” said Terry Sweeney, Indianapolis Downtown, Inc. vice president of real estate development. “We hope people considering Downtown living will stop by after work, check out the homes and apartments on the market and then come to the reception to sample some of Downtown’s wonderful restaurants while meeting their future neighbors.”

The Open Houses are May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19 and Sept. 16.  The reception for the first Open House May 20 is at Euphoria in Buggs Temple, 337 W. 11th St.

Homes and apartments participating in Third Thursday Open Houses can be found on www.indydt.com/thirdthursday.cfm. Properties include new condos for sale such as Allen Plaza, Landmark at Lockerbie, Meridian Arch, Residences at 429 and Villaggio at Page Point. Resale condos and homes in Downtown’s historic neighborhoods include 757 Mass Ave, Mill No. 9, Watermark and others. Apartments such as the Ambassador, Blacherne, Cosmopolitan and Riley Towers are also available.

“Downtown living is about access to Downtown’s excitement and quality of life.  Having open houses on Thursday evening lets people see the houses and experience some of the cool destinations and energy that is a big part of Downtown,” said Sweeney.  “Plus, it’s a convenient time and lets people meet potential neighbors and chat about the area and lifestyle.”

In addition, an incentive is offered to Downtown buyers and renters. Those that buy or rent one of the participating properties from May – September will receive a free Downtown Amenity Package.  The package will include gift certificates, memberships and other valuable items.  The reward is a fun way to get new residents acquainted with many of the great attributes of living Downtown.

Third Thursday Open Houses are a joint project between Indianapolis Downtown, Inc. and participating developers, Realtors and apartment owners.  Find details at www.indydt.com/thirdthursday.cfm.
