Summer Concerts Downtown Indy

Enjoy summer to the fullest with fun musical performances Downtown.  From weekly happy hours to fun concerts on the Lawn to big-name national tours, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.


NEW! Happy Hour on Georgia Street
Relax outside over a glass of wine, your favorite cocktail or a craft brew and enjoy shrimp cocktail and other appetizers from Harry & Izzy's and the Severin Bar. Visit with friends and co-workers as live, local jazz fills the air. Unwind from the work week with a casual evening on Georgia Street's Boardwalk every summer Friday from 5 - 7 p.m.

Indiana Historical Society – Concerts on the Canal
Take in the sights and sounds of the Downtown Canal during Concerts on the Canal at the Indiana Historical Society Center. This popular outdoor summer concert series is FREE and takes place at the Kruse Family Stardust Terrace on Thursdays from 6 – 8 p.m. (the Fourth of July celebration is 5 – 9:30 p.m.). Rent a table on the Terrace or bring your own chair or blanket and sit on the grassy hill across the Canal. Cafe, outdoor grill and cash bar are available.

Zoolapalooza Concert Series
The Indianapolis Zoo’s "wildly" popular Zoolapalooza concert series is back for the fourth summer. Concerts take place on two Fridays in June and three Fridays in July from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. and are included with regular zoo admission. Visitors can wander the Zoo beforehand and then sit back and enjoy live music, food and drink during the concert.

Animals and All That Jazz
Visit the Indianapolis Zoo on Thursday evenings July 10 – Aug. 14 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. for Animals and All That Jazz. This season the new International Orangutan Center will serve as the backdrop in the middle of Zoo grounds. Picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration Concerts
Mark your calendars for two exciting Music Heritage Festival concerts! The first outdoor Music Heritage Festival is on Friday, July 18 at 6 p.m. at The Indiana War Memorial with Keith Sweat, After 7 and the S.O.S. Band. General admission is FREE and VIP tickets are $40. Purchase tickets online.

Grammy Award-winning R&B artists Anthony Hamilton, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Chrisette Michele will perform at the Heritage Music Festival II at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets range from $35 - $65 and can be purchased online.
