Forget hosting a New Year’s Eve get-together at home this year. These Downtown parties, events and specials offer everything from kid friendly fun to classy top-shelf parties in the sky.

A Manhattan New Year's Mystery, FREE
The Sanctuary on Penn
The year is 1942 in New York City, someone has been murdered at a party among the city's elite and we need your help to solve it. One smart detective will win an all expenses paid party for 30. Attendees will be limited to the first 300 RSVPs. Reserve your spot by emailing names of guests to: events@indysanctuary.com.

CIROC the New Year, $130
Regions Bank Tower
Party in the sky from 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. and enjoy a 360-degree view of Downtown. This rooftop event features an all-inclusive top-shelf bar with light hors d'oeuvres, a champagne toast, a special fireworks show and party favors. Music provided by DJ Gabby Love, DJ Lockstar, DJ gNo and DJ Indiana Jones.

ComedySportz Celebrates New Years Eve, $20 adults; $15 students and seniors
The Athenaeum Theatre
Celebrate with the most unique comedy show around! Admission to the ComedySportz match includes hats, noisemakers and a sparkling cider toast. There are two celebrations: the first occurs from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and the second occurs from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. Second show ends with a countdown to midnight.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis
Celebrate the final day of 2013 with activities, music and Water Clock countdowns at noon and 1 p.m. that will allow families to experience the excitement of a countdown to the new year at a reasonable hour for the youngsters.

Indiana State Museum
Enjoy face painting, stilt walkers, clowns and music by local band The Tides at the Indiana State Museum from 6 - 9 p.m. A balloon drop at 8 p.m. allows the little ones to celebrate in style. A fun, alcohol-free celebration for the family.

Celebrate with live music from Password Reset and Crambone, featuring special guest emcee Don Stuck. Tickets include general admission to the show, party favors, champagne toast at midnight and more!

New Year’s Eve with Zanna Doo, $50 in advance, $55 at the door

Enjoy some local brew and live music from Zanna Doo. Includes hors d'oeuvre buffet and a champagne Chef Joseph'stoast at midnight. Doors open at 6 p.m.

New Year's Eve at Howl at the Moon!, $35 - $90
Celebrate at Howl at the Moon as you sing in the New Year! Howl at the Moon is featuring dueling pianos rocking all of your favorite hits from 2013 and more. Champagne Supernova Package ($90) includes a gourmet dinner buffet, one bottle of champagne and reserved seating on the main floor. This New Year’s Eve party takes over three ballrooms at Union Station, each with their own theme and entertainment! Listen to live music in Grand Hall, enjoy music, magic and psychics in Iron Horse Lounge and party with DJs all night in Illinois Street Ballroom. Dinner is served between 7:15 and 8:30 p.m.

New Year's Eve Rock 'N' Roll Ball, $40 - $375

New Year’s Eve at Weber Grill, various prices
Weber Grill invites guests to ring in the New Year in culinary style. Chef Larry Donahue has crafted extraordinary menu items highlighting decadent ingredients from both land and sea plus toasting will be encouraged with two new bubbly cocktails. The restaurant will be open for lunch (available until 4 p.m.) and dinner (from 4 – 11 p.m.) on December 31. The bar will be open until 12:30 p.m.
