Pansies add vibrancy Downtown
Vibrant color will enhance Downtown's landscape this March. A total of 10,107 blue, yellow and rose pansies will be planted in nearly 200 planters throughout Downtown in time to welcome thousands of visitors. In addition, more than 300 Downtown businesses plant pansies to enhance their properties and the entire Downtown neighborhood. Planting begins March 18. For more information, call 237.2211.

Basketball mania in March
Men's, women's, professional, collegiate and high school… Conseco Fieldhouse has it all! The month tips off with the IHSAA Girls State Basketball Finals March 1 followed by the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament March 6 - 9 and the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament March 13 -16. The IHSAA Boys State Basketball Finals will also be visiting Conseco Fieldhouse March 22. The Indiana Pacers have several home games throughout the month of March. Other Downtown sporting events include the Hoosier Mideast Qualifier - Volleyball March 14 - 16 at the Indiana Convention Center & RCA Dome. The 500 Festival Mini Marathon Training Series presented by OrthoIndy Land - 10K takes place March 1.

Performing arts score big, too!
Stages are full all over Downtown with sensational concerts, theatrical performances and comedy acts! The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh will be performed at the Phoenix Theatre through March 2. Also at the Phoenix this month Well by Lisa Kron running March 6 - April 6. Catch a performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Indianapolis Civic Theatre March 7 - 22. To tickle your funny bone, check out Larry the Cable Guy at the Murat Centre March 8. For the younger crowd, be sure to check out Broadway in Indianapolis presents High School Musical performed March 18 - 23.

Downtown has the "Luck of the Irish"
St. Patrick's Day takes over Downtown March 15 - 17. Start early on March 15 for the Indy Sports Foundation Shamrock Run and Walk beginning at 9 a.m. March 17 is the Greening of the Canal presented by the Hoosier Lottery at 6:30 a.m. as well as the St. Patrick's Day Parade presented by Cathedral High School at 11:30 a.m. Also on March 17, enjoy a St. Patrick's Day Skate at the Indiana World Skating Academy from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. If you're looking for more Irish adventures, try St. Patrick's Day at Deano's from 6 p.m. - Midnight or the Shamrock & Roll at Claddagh Irish Pub from 4 p.m. - Midnight.

Sounds of spring
Downtown is the place to be for music lovers in March! Dierks Bentley will be performing March 1 at the Murat Centre. Harry Rollins will also visit the Murat March 6 followed by Daniel Tosh March 7 and Tegan and Sarah March 8. Bruce Springsteen will take the stage at Conseco Fieldhouse March 20.

If you're in the mood for classical, visit the Hilbert Circle Theatre March 7 or 8 for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Northwest Airlines Pop Series. Also plan to attend Happy Hour at the Symphony March 13.

Busy time for the art community
The Indianapolis Museum of Art invites you to enjoy Asian art with their Masterpieces of Asian Art Tour March 1as well as the Art Jolt: World War II Era Provance Issues for Art Museums March 6. For a different scene, visit the Dean Johnson Design and Gallery March 7 - 29 for the Transition by the Garage Artist Society. The Indiana State Museum will host Signature Quilts presented by Xenia Cord Lecture March 15.

Looking for a unique outdoor experience? Check out the Butterflies at the Indianapolis Zoo March 21 - Sept. 2. The Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis Downtown will be hosting Midwest Fashion Week March 28. For a change of pace, visit the Morris-Butler House Museum for Little Women Novel Tea March 29. Help to give back to the community by participating in the College Mentors for Kids Walk for Kids March 29. ###
