The concept of holiday decor on the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument was first suggested in 1945 as a celebration of peace and brotherhood.

To capture the 50th anniversary celebration, a Circle of Lights Time Capsule will be created and kept on deposit at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center.
